This is the first book I have read by Danielle Steel, a very prolific writer. My book club recommended this but no one in our club enjoyed it. From what I understand, the husband always dies. The best part of the story is her description of grief, and this was the only time I was brought into the story. A good writer writes about what they know, and I guess she really knows about this subject. The problem is, she is extremely redundant in her descriptions, how many times can you say the same thing - only in a different way. Boring! This lady puts out so many books I am afraid she has lost her "own" touch. The ending was not a surprise. I ask you, how can you publish so many books in such a short time without losing your train of thought? I gave it two stars instead of one because when your children are asleep and you want a romance novel, you don't ever have to think while reading this. Danielle Steele has a fantastic ability to keep you on the edge of your seat and makes one want to to continue reading to find out what happens next ... Her books are well researched, characters thoroughly captivating and she brings all of them in story like a perfect puzzle. I highly recommend A GOOD WOMAN, it is a wonderful, has emotions, surprises and unexpected events.
